Job Purpose

Tesco Underwriting is currently looking for an MI Analyst to work in their Operational Excellence department based in Newcastle.

 

The successful person will support the Senior MI Analyst to maintain and run robust data management processes and self-serve reporting applications for the business by delivering solutions which are efficient, standard and comply with the governance model.

 

Key to the success of this position is the ability to deliver management information to the business in clear, concise and innovative ways that is timely and supports claims management.

 

Management Information Analyst responsibilities:

 

  • Support the reporting infrastructure which delivers data, reporting, analytics and insight capability within Claims.
  • Work with the Senior MI Developer to enhance report production and automate standard tasks.
  • Manage the standard reporting catalogue to supply timely, accurate data and reporting solutions.
  • Actively participate in projects which enhance the MI service for our colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Being the subject matter expert in report production and develop the skills and knowledge of my colleagues.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for improving the timeliness, accuracy, content/and or delivery of MI.
  • Manage and prioritise workload to maintain a quality of service to all stakeholders.
  • Supporting the definition and development of the data and reporting strategy in conjunction with the defined MI roadmap.
  • Adopt a ‘treating customers fairly’ approach within all aspects of day to day work.
  • Understanding and implementing the key elements of risk and controls management that are defined within our governance framework (e.g. information security, process risks and controls).

 

What an MI Analyst looks like:

 

  • Awareness of SAS Advanced Programming and SQL.
  • Advanced Excel and data presentation skills.
  • Ability to take complex data and create clear and concise management information in innovative ways.
  • Proven experience of Developing and maintain a standard reporting catalogue.
  • Relational databases, data extraction and manipulation techniques.
  • MI Reporting, Scorecards and Dashboards.
  • Project management skills; evidence of having delivered change management projects.
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication skills; working across a wider stakeholder group.
  • Results focused with a proven track record of delivery; able to demonstrate tenacity and resilience and work under pressure.
