    Up to £36,000 per annum (depending upon experience)


    We are recruiting a dynamic Project Underwriter to work within our Underwriting Project team based in Eastleigh. Your main focus will be working with a wide variety of business stakeholders to lead smaller projects, whilst also playing a key role in supporting large scale strategic projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands insurance and has experience in the Financial Services Industry. The role itself offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders within Ageas, which can provide a good platform for career development. You will be a comfortable working in an extremely fast paced and ever changing environment, where no one day is ever the same.


    Your duties will include;

    • Support the successful delivery of strategic Underwriting projects
    • Provide effective coordination and support for project teams that are led by Senior Underwriters or Underwriting Managers. Project teams are typically comprised of stakeholders across Underwriting, Distribution, Pricing, Actuarial and IT
    • Independently lead smaller project/developments within the broker channel, or specific work streams that form part of a wider strategic project.
    • Independently create and maintain accurate and realistic delivery plans in support of allocated project work
    • Play an active role in project meetings, challenging inefficiency and offering support and creative ideas to project discussion
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Underwriting colleagues, as well as taking the opportunity to do the same with colleagues in wider teams across the business, including Pricing, IT and BI
    • Work closely with the Senior Underwriting Manager and Underwriting Projects and Risk Manager to plan and schedule project delivery based upon priority and underlying business benefit case.
    • Provide support to colleagues within the Project Team where necessary, collaborating effectively to maximise efficiency and delivery of project related tasks.


    The experience you need to be a success;

    Financial services knowledge is an important part of this role. You will have worked in a similar environment and have a good knowledge of the industry. The ideal candidate will have good numeracy skills, as well as a strong ability to analyse and interpret complex data. An understanding of underwriting and pricing principles is also advantageous. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, with an ability to convert technical information into simplistic terms that are easy for less technical stakeholders to understand. Relationship building/management skills are important in this role. Experience of business analysis and project management disciplines is also an advantage, although candidates without this experience can be trained on these principles.
