    HR Business Partner – Gloucester/Claims
    £40-50k Dependant on Experience.


    Ageas Insurance is seeking a proactive and passionate individual to join our HR team, based in our Gloucester office. An opportunity has arisen for a HR Business Partner to join Ageas on a 12 month fixed term contract, on a maternity cover basis. As HR Business Partner you will be directly involved in a wide variety of interesting people related activities to support us in delivering our challenging business plans. These will include playing a key role in employee relations, reward, talent and development and organisation design. With responsibility for roughly 1000 employees, covering a wide variety of roles throughout our Claims function, you will proactively engage with all levels of employees from Claims Handler to the Claims Director, to understand the requirements of the business and ensure they are met.


    The right candidate will be energised about making an impact and adding value through a flexible and pragmatic approach, providing a range of options and solutions to our busy people managers. You will be excellent at influencing and providing guidance, helping to forecast and plan future HR requirements ensuring defined service levels, standards and priorities are taken into consideration. With our claims functions spread across other offices, regular travel is required to both Eastleigh and Portsmouth.


    Here are some of the accountabilities of the HR Business Partner role:

    • Provide effective organisational design advice, to ensure successful delivery of organisational restructure.
    • Guide and coach HR Advisors on their own development, best practice and customer service to ensure the HR team support the business effectively.
    • Handle a wide range of key people processes.
    • Undertake projects agreed to by the Head of HR, whom you will directly report into.
    • Work with a range of managers to understand recruitment needs and retention issues.
    • Support the implementation of company policies throughout the business areas.
    • Work closely with Learning and Development to ensure talent and development plans are executed in like with Corporate and Business plans.
    • Assist with implementation of the annual salary reward process, ensuring this is implemented fairly and consistently by line managers.
    • Understand the impact of existing and new UK and European employment law, identifying possible solutions to manage the impact of new legislation and case law on the business.

    To be successful in being considered for the HR Business Partner vacancy you need:

    • CIPD qualification at Graduate (level 7) Level, OR, Degree or equivalent relevant to the role.
    • Proven experience of negotiating and influencing.
    • Detailed and relevant knowledge of employment legislation.
    • Experience of working in a HR role, with exposure to supporting policies and procedures such as absence management, performance improvement, disciplinary, grievance, recruitment and retention.
    • Act as an advocate for change, demonstrating a positive interview.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Previous experience of project leading would be beneficial.
